Mini Smores! Yum!

Super yummy and super easy.  Three simple ingredients, lots of smiles!  Happy Eating!

MINI SMORES

Ingredients:

1 box Honey Maid Lil' Square Graham Crackers (any mini graham crackers will work)

1 bag of Hershey's Kisses

1 bag of mini marshmallows

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.  Line a cookie sheet with parchment paper or foil.  Place graham crackers on the sheet and top with Hershey's Kisses.   Bake for 2-1/2 to 3 minutes - just until chocolate is soft.  Remove from the oven and immediately press the mini marshmallows into the center of each.  Cool and enjoy!  (You can also put the snacks in the refrigerator to set after they have cooled slightly.)

Ingredients:  Mini Graham Crackers, Chocolate Kisses & Mini Marshmallows

Graham Crackers on Lined Cookie Sheet with Kisses on Top!

Press the mini marshmallows into the center of the kisses immediately after you remove them from the oven.

It’s the annual WAIKIKI SPAM JAM®Festival, the cultural tradition in Hawaii. The WAIKIKI SPAM JAM®Festival, which starts at 4:00 p.m. and ends at 10:00 p.m., and is quickly becoming one of the most popular festivals in Hawaii because of its great food and entertainment in a family-friendly atmosphere. Local residents and visitors alike have made this an annual tradition. Last year, an estimated 20,000 people attended the event.

Kalakaua Avenue is closed to car traffic for the event, and two entertainment stages are set up on the street. Between the stages, several of Honolulu’s finest restaurants will be serving up Spam®Products in many different ways, so you can experience the enormous variety of its applications. Two merchandise tents will be selling Spam™-themed items including t-shirts, shorts, sport balls, and slippers. A variety of Hawaiian craft booths will also be set up on the street. Since the WAIKIKI SPAM JAM®Festival attracts many families, there is also a popular family tent with a variety of games and prizes.

There are no admission charges for enjoying the entertainment.

During the Spam Jam®Street Festival, booths are set up by volunteers to help collect donations of Spam®products for the Hawaii Food Bank.

Spot's Inn is Back!

I could barely contain my excitement when I saw the Spot's Inn sign in Puck's Alley.  Originally located in Kalihi, Spot's was one of our favorite plate lunch spots, so we were really sad when they closed a few years ago.  Imagine my excitement to find out that they had reopened in a new location.  Be sure to check it out!  Their food is super ono and their prices are great.  Definitely a favorite!  Happy Eating!

In Chinatown and at Chinatown Cultural Plaza. The evening begins at 8 South King St. with the traditional Chinese lion dance blessing -- Choy Cheng. The Narcissus Queen and her court will visit Chinatown businesses and their patrons. Stores celebrate by lighting firecrackers and offering lisee (good luck money envelopes) to the dancing lions. Meanwhile, the Chinatown Open House celebration takes place at the Chinatown Cultural Plaza, with food vendors, arts and crafts booths, and entertainment.
