Easy Way to Make Delicious Marshmallow Treats
I remember making rice crispy marshmallow treats as a kid. The sugary goodness of a freshly made treat was hard to beat! So, when a good friend brought some over AND told me she had made them in the microwave in just minutes, I was ecstatic! With Halloween and other holiday events right around the corner, I decided that I had to give it a try. After all, who doesn't love a a delicious, simple and fast recipe. It's super easy and fun too! You just need three simple ingredients....
Recipe (from Jet-Puffed Mini Marshmallow bag):
1/4 cup (1/2 stick) of butter
1 pkg 10-1/2 oz mini marshmallows
8-1/2 cups of cereal (Rice Krispies, Froot Loops or Fruity Cheerios, shown below)
Microwave butter in a large microwaveable bowl on high for 45 seconds or until melted. Add marshmallows and toss to coat evenly. Microwave 1-1/2 minutes or until marshmallows are completely melted and mixture is well blended, stirring after 45 seconds. Add cereal and mix well. Press firmly into greased 13 x 9 inch pan. Cool. Cut into 24 squares to serve. Great, simple recipe for parties and picnics. Yum!
